The Indian Finance Minister, Shrimati Nirmala Sitharaman announced the launch of PM Internship Scheme 2024. This announcement was made during the Union Budget speech on July 23rd, 2024. Now, the scheme has been successfully launched on the 3rd of October 2024.

The government has allocated a huge budget of Rs. 800 Crores for the successful implementation of the scheme. Around 1 Crore Youth will get benefit from this scheme for the upcoming five years. • Internship program will start on the 02, December 2024.
• The government will give you ₹4,500 each month, and the company will give you ₹500.
• You’ll get a one-time payment of ₹6,000 for expenses.
• The Candidate cannot be a Government employee.
• The government will provide insurance coverage for every intern. (Pradhan Mantri Jeevan Jyoti Bima Yojana and Pradhan Mantri Suraksha Bima Yojana)

• Through this scheme, youth candidates may get practical work experience in many top Indian companies.
• Candidates can enhance their skills through exceptional training. 
• The monthly stipend under this scheme will be Rs. 5000. 
• Rs. 6000 will be the one-time assistance for the initial month. 
• The scheme provides open opportunities to ITI trainees, diploma holders, and candidates with other academic qualifications. 
• The scheme also provides candidates with insurance coverage of Pradhan Mantri Jeevan Jyoti Bima Yojana and Pradhan Mantri Suraksha Bima Yojana. 
• Companies may also grant other insurance coverages to the interns if their policy states so.

Registration Process 

• Log into the official portal by clicking at https://pminternship.mca.gov.in/login/. 
• Enter all the required details and get your registration done. 
• Your resume will be automatically generated based on the information provided. 
• View the available internship opportunities according to your preferences. 
• Apply for 5 opportunities suitable for your academic qualifications and additional skills. 
• The participating companies will carry out the further selection process. 
• You simply need to accept the desired offer sent to you. 

Partner Company Criteria

• The partner companies are shortlisted based on the Ministry’s average CSR expenditure over the last three years.
• Companies not on the initial list of 500 can still participate by receiving approval from the Ministry of Corporate Affairs.
• Companies that cannot offer internships directly can collaborate with their supply chain partners (suppliers, consumers, and vendors).
• They can also collaborate with other businesses or institutions in their corporate group.

What Will Happen When And How?

• The portal will open on 12th October 2024 for the eligible candidates.
• Candidates should upload all their personal information on the portal. 
• Self-verification is mandatory while uploading the documents. 
• In the first phase, candidates may apply from Oct 12 to Oct 25. 
• Also, each candidate will get 5 chances to apply for the PM Internship Scheme. 
• The candidates’ list will be shared with the participating companies on Oct 26. 
• There will be an open selection procedure from 27 October to 7 November. 
• Selected candidates must accept the offers between 8 November to 15 November 2024. 
• Each selected candidate will be given three maximum offers to choose from.
• Once the process is completed, around 1 lakh youth may begin their internship from 02 December 2024.
